Arts on Grand
Arts on Grand is a facility on Spencer's main street operated by the
Spencer Area Arts Council - a non-profit organization funded through
memberships, fundraisers and local grants.
The facility offers an exhibit gallery featuring original artworks by local
artists, pottery and painting studios, and unique evening events ranging from
artist receptions to musical groups. Classes, workshops, and educational
programs are offered for artists of all ages throughout the year, and are open
to both members and non-members.

Parker Museum
Step back in time with a visit to the Parker Historical Museum of Clay
County. The museum collects and preserves Clay County history and
heritage in a 1916 Arts and Crafts period house and the adjacent Duroe
Building.
The artifacts in the museum's permanent collection date primarily from 1860
- 1950 and include a rosewood piano, Victorian organ, Observatory time
clock, 1918 LaFrance fire truck, vintage clothing, china and agricultural
tools.

Spencer Public Library
Visit the home place of our own renowned Dewey, subject of "Dewey: The Small
Town Library Cat Who Touched the World" book, penned by former librarian Vicki
Myron.
The Spencer Public Library, accredited by the State Library of Iowa for
excellence in services and programs, is home to thousands of volumes of written
material, videos, and internet learning opportunities.

Spencer Community Theatre
Housed in a renovated grocer's warehouse, the SCT
Playhouse offers quality community theatre experiences for people of all ages.
Tours are always welcome. When visiting the Spencer area, feel free to
stop in for a tour of the renovated warehouse. And don't forget to ask to
see the Costume Shop on the second floor!

Spencer Municipal Band
The
Spencer Municipal Band is a group of talented musicians from Spencer and
surrounding communities who perform a series of weekly concerts for the
enjoyment of our citizens and visitors throughout the summer. Most of the
performances are held in the vintage band shell, located in East Leach Park.

Clay County Heritage Center
Opening in early summer
2012, the Clay County Heritage Center located at 7 Grand Avenue will share
historical exhibits of Clay County History with the Parker Museum. The
facility will feature multiple galleries to showcase the museum collection with
interpretive exhibits. The center will also include the Clay County
Visitors Center.

Bogenrief Studios
Bogenrief Studios, known around the country for years as foremost artists in
stained glass began a new adventure in 2003 with the addition of a blown glass
studio. They are located in the former U.S. Post Office building, and are
a wonderful place to browse for unique gifts.
